Dear members,
Welcome to Reading Enrichment Program!
It’s my great pleasure to help you explore and enjoy the journey of reading. As an English learner and instructor, reading has made tremendous impacts on my English competence and teaching career. A great number of researches have shown that reading, as a personal habit and learning process, not only strengthens students’ English ability of everyday communications and exam results but also expands their horizons. Through reading the English graded readers of this program, you’ll pick up authentic English expressions and learn more about cultures around the world.
No one can read every single book that has ever published. Thus, this blog serves as a platform for all of you to exchange ideas, express reading reflections and help each other to explore more possiblities of other graded readers, novels and stories of life. From others’ reading experiences, you’ll learn a lot—including useful English expressions, knowledge of various professions, classic masterpieces of the English literature, and more importantly, cultures from different eras, perspectives and countries.
Below, I’m pasting the guidelines for posting reflections on this blog. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions by e-mailing me at effieyu@mail.mcu.edu.tw. I look forward to reading your posts and accompanying you on this learning journey.
Sincerely,
Effie Wang

Love Conquers Death and other stories
There are 3 strories about India in this book.
The first story is The Gifts of the Jackal. This is about a prince was a magician who changed him to be a jackal. He married an waman who was a poor, old man's eldest daughter. The jackal gave gifts to the poor man and proved his wife was his true love who loved him when he was a jackal.
The second story is The Wicked Magician about young prince rescued his mom,dad and other uncles from a bad magician. He killed a bird in a cage which was under a barrel in dark forest. He knew the bird was the magician's heart.
The last story is Love Conquers Death about a princess married a prince who was not very rich and died. She went to the death world with her husband. Because her wisdom, she made her husband live again.
The last story is my favorite. The princess found a prince who was her choice not rich but wise.
She could follow her thought and obtain a fortunt life.

The Woman Who Disappeared
This is about a woman who asked for a private detective finding her sister who disappeared. After the private eye detected, he found out the woman and her disappearing sister were the same person because she stolen a bag of jewellery from two bad men. She wanted to take it with her lover away from this place.
I consider that the woman is smart because she asked for a man to detect her sister who has't been in the realistic life and protect herslf. If she was free, she constantly find this man to ask for him to detect her lying. If she was caught by the two men, the detector will come out with and rescue her out. There were two conclusion that the woman still live in the world.
